Citroën has teased a new electric city car concept ahead of the Geneva motor show will present the firm’s vision for ‘urban mobility’ – with a second concept car focusing on luxury to follow in May.

The two concepts were confirmed by Citroën boss Linda Jackson in a video previewing the VivaTech event that will be held in Paris on 16-18 May.

While the luxury concept will make its world premiere at VivaTech, Citroën tweeted that there would be “more to come” on 19 February. Arnaud Belloni, the firm's global marketing boss, previously told Autocar that the city-focused concept would appear at Geneva. The model will celebrate Citroën's centenary, and Belloni said it would be “as important to Citroën as the 2CV was”.

Jackson said the first concept will “give Citroën’s vision in terms of urban mobility”. The video ended with a series of close-up teaser shots of the concept, showing narrow, sharp LED lights that wrap around the corners of the car and a close-up of a bold, stylised wing mirror.

Belloni previously noted the machine would be fully electric and preview an affordable production car, maintaining the spirit of the 2CV but with an ubran rather than rural focus,

The second concept car that will debut at VivaTech will “embody Citroën’s take on ultra-comfort”, according to Jackson. She added that the firm had worked with a number of French technology start-ups to “showcase its best innovation in digital or on-board customer experience”.

Kind of thing that im bored of...it'll be on the roads by 2043 or something and everyone would've thought of better things

Kind of reminds me of some Renault concepts from the 90s and 2000s so far.

That's some statement - especially as the 2CV was so important to the development of rural France.  Talk about hyping something up!  I hope the guy realises what he is saying and is not disrespecting a car of real genius.

The car-buying public gets what it deserves, unfortunately ...

Sorry to insult you Bishop. I still fully agree with Ljames. Annother crazy concept.

Both of you are right, another crazy concept.  If it does make it out between now and 2043 then it may get 1 or 2 sales but most will probably forget about it before the drawings even reach the factory.

If Citroen want to do anything i suggest that they sort out their current line up then have some fun creating a few 'crazy concepts.'

Whatever happens, don't get an electric.

Cool lights, i guess we could say. But who cares? Its just another crazy concept that will emerge completely different.

The last "spirit of the 2CV" was the C3, which spirited into the current version thereof. How many times can they spin out this retro nonsense from the marketing department?

Won’t effect me, I’ll be too old to care.....

Car manufacturers should focus on creating more electric cars, to reduce the use of fuel that causes air pollution.
